The night was a
great success in every aspect, we raised loads of money for charity, the food was great (after lots you asked me to thank
my family for the food, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to them as they cooked and prepared the food and also help
set it up during the night) and we also tackled issues like further training, taking your pet to the next level and maybe
becoming a PAT dog as well as learning that the Rottweiler is a fantastic breed of dog and when bought up properly like any
pet they excel.
We raised £180.00
for Canine Partners. ‘Canine Partners assists people
with disabilities to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life through the help of specially trained assistance
dogs. As a registered charity we receive no Government funding and are wholly dependant on public donations and legacies.’
Please visit our links page to get more info about this
wonderful charity.
After our talk
about Pets As Therapy I hope that most of the owners will consider taking the steps towards qualifying their pet as a therapy
dog. I am sure if your dog becomes a Therapy dog you will find the visits to hospitals and retirement homes so rewarding and
it always looks like the dogs love the work. Again if you visit our links page you will be able to get access to more information
about PAT.
If your pet qualifies
as a PAT dog please write in and let us know, we get as excited and happy as you do!!!
The Ilford Recorder
newspaper is going to write a little piece on the evening and the Dog Club which will appear in the paper that will come out
on Thursday 19th October 2006. So look out and your photo maybe in there.
Once again I would
like to thank my fab assistants for all their help with the classes and the night. Thank You!!!
