Domesticated Manners Guide To Poopee Training

By Chirag Patel

Quick Start

(1)              Throw away those training pads.

(2)             Pick up rugs, mats and any pieces of valuable furniture.

(3)        Clean any dirty areas with a Biological cleaner.

(4)            Get hold of a puppy cot.

(5)        Prepare some jackpots.

(6)            Create a ‘poo area’ in the garden.

(7)            Take your puppy out to this area every hour especially after your puppy has been: Eating, drinking, playing and (or) resting.

(8)            Wait in (or just out side) the area with your pup for a few minutes. If your puppy does anything then use some of the jackpot and praise your puppy. If your puppy fails to do any thing then take your puppy back into the house not giving him/her any fuss and place in the cot for a little while then try again.

(9)            During the training period if at any time you cannot supervise your puppy 100% then make sure that he/she is in the cot.

(10)        Remember that if you catch your puppy poopeeing anywhere inappropriate then interrupt the behaviour with a quick ‘uh uh’ and move your puppy to the toilet area then praise.

PUNISHMENT WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE NOT BETTER SO DON’T GO DOWN THAT PATH !!!

Further Information

(1)                           I personally do not like using training pads, as I believe that it is much easier to get your puppy poopeeing in the garden from day one. There may be exception as to when I would recommend the use of them (flats…)

(2)                         Carpets, furniture and other items will probably retain the smell of your pups previous accidents and this will make it more likely that your pup will repeat poopeeing there.

(3)                         Even if you use bleach to clean accidents up you may find that your pup can still smell it as it has only just covered it up to our nose. Our pooch’s sense of smell is 1000’s of times better than ours. So you need to break up the poopees biologically.                                                                                        * http://www.urine-off.com/  Tel: 01245-425722                  * http://www.bramton.com/   Tel: 01480 464 550

(4)                         This is a medium sized cage (depends on the size of your dog) that will be like a cot. You would not leave a baby unsupervised anywhere if you could not keep your eye on him/her so the same rule applies to you puppy. It also helps as your puppy is less likely to poopee where he/she sleeps.

(5)                         You need to get nice reinforcements like chicken pieces, cheese… ready so that you can reward your dog for doing his/her poopee in the right place. Lets face it why would he/she want to do it in a place where your pup would not get any rewards from.

(6)                         This is where you temporarily cordon off an area in your garden (small area) and this is where your pup will poopee itself.

If your dog thinks yours the best, Dont seek a second opinion!
